Rules
Format: Game format will be Stopwatch ABBA. Each match will consist of two rounds each consisting of two halfs (In the ABBA format each half is represented by A or B). Two matches will be played each week. Teams will be assigned their opponents on Sunday's and will be allowed to set up their own match dates and times, so long as both matches are concluded by the following Saturday. Assignment of opponents will be done manually by an admin. Each team will play every other team once to determine a total score at the end of that phase. The Cup will either be concluded at that point, or should their be enough interest, a second phase consisting of a seeded play-off round will begin.
Maps The map rotation will be determined at the start of the cup, therefore you will know which maps are coming in which order so you may practice ahead of time. The same map will be played for both matches during the week. However, the losing team from the first round will have the option to play the second round on the following weeks map if they choose.
Scoring Teams receive 2 points for each round win, maximum of 4 points for any single match. In the event of a double full hold if one team did more objectives than the other, that team will be declared the winner. In the event both teams completed the same amount of objectives, the team who completed the last in the least amount of total time will be declared the winner. In the event of a double full hold at the first objective that match will be considered a tie and each team will receive 1 point.
Possible scoring outcomes are as follows:
4-0 (or 0-4) First team wins both rounds
2-2 Each team wins a round
2-2 Both rounds tied (double full holds at first objective).
3-1 (or 1-3) First team wins a round and the other is a tie
Total points will be added at the end of the round robin phase. If there is not enough interest at that point to enter a playoff phase, but there remain teams with tied scores, those teams will compete between themselves to determine a final ranking using the same rules as noted above. In this case if after two rounds the scores are still tied a 3rd round will be played. If the scores are still tied at the end of that 3rd round, the teams will be considered tied for whatever place in the ranking they were competing for.
Spectators Each team will be allowed a single spectator who can act as a "coach" for that team. This rule is in place to help newer teams acclimate to formal competition, it is not intended to allow more experienced teams a 7th pair of eyes on the battlefield, please do not abuse it. Teams new to comp are encouraged to find a mentor or coach to work with them through-out the cup. Note that Spec-lock will be on and each team's coaches must be speccing their own teams when each match starts.
Server Config Matches will be played on Promod using the config shown here: http://etqwnapubleague.tourney.cc/pages/server-config/ [etqwnapubleague.tourney.cc]. This config is for all intents and purposes identical to last seasons STA 6v6 config. We intend to set up a couple of promod servers participants can use, so if you don't have your own don't worry.
Player Eligibility: Players who have received a hacking ban in any official gaming league are not eligible to participate.
